Summary

Part Four: 107: The First Step returns to Dalinar cleaning himself up. He asks Stormfather about the dream with Nohadon but Stormfather does not know of it. Dalinar feels better, but worries about feeling the Thrill again. Taravangian tells him that the monarchs are talking about tactics but said he was not needed. Instead, he went for a walk and Dalinar asks about a message from Khol inar. Taravangian says they have received nothing. However, Stormfather says he sensed Kaladin during the highstorm even though they all thought he was dead. They head to the meeting with various monarchs and Azish scholars. Fen is furious that Dalinar did not lead them over the last week and he apologizes. They go through their battle preparations and something bothers Dalinar, but he cannot figure out what. Navani arrives, relieved to see Dalinar as the others...
