Chapter 44 Summary

Regan meets Cordie and Sophie at the park for a charity walk/run. They relish the details of Sophie's expose on Dr. Shields. After it came out in the paper, the phone lit up with women wanting to testify against him. The prosecutor told Sophie they have enough evidence to put Shields away for a long time. As a result, Sophie has finally been promoted off the advice column.

They discuss the resolution of Regan's case and ask her about Alec. She confesses she's fallen in love with him and now he is gone. Her friends are livid with Alec on Regan's behalf.

The race gets ready to start. Because of her knee, Regan is only going to walk part of the way, so she hangs back when the starting gun sounds. She's quickly separated from Cordie and Sophie.
