Chapter 22 Summary

Regan is not happy when she hears about Alec's new assignment. But, although she will not admit it out loud, she is scared, so she resigns herself to his presence in her office.

Regan's phone rings; it is Peter Morris, the man who is upset about his grant not being renewed. He seems to think it is all a misunderstanding and that, now that he has Regan on the phone, she will issue him a check. Regan quickly sets him straight, telling him she personally denied his grant and he would be wasting his time to apply again.

After hanging up, she tells Alec about the conversation. He assures her he will make sure Wincott checks out Morris. Then he explains they need to meet with the sketch artist at the station.
