Summary

In Chapter 50, Toons called Snake to tell him that when they started checking up on the former members of the Double Eagles that they discovered that Will Devine and his family had disappeared sometime overnight. Snake got Alois and told him they were going to Natchez.

In Chapter 51, back at the courthouse, Quentin asks Cora about Viola’s estate. Penn and Quentin both notice Cora looking at Lincoln for coaching. Cora tells Quentin that her sister had $72,000. Shad objects, noting the estate had nothing to do with Viola’s death but Quentin argues that it is in his client’s best interests to explore the possibility that someone else had motive and killed Viola.
