Summary

In Chapter 6, which is set on a Thursday, Penn describes in retrospect how the VK motorcycle club retaliated against the deaths of its two members twenty days later. He says what they did was obscene but then changes his line of thought by describing how he tried, unsuccessfully, during that twenty-day period to find anyone associated with the Double Eagle group who would talk to him.

When Penn’s line of narration returns to the retaliation, the narration switches to an omniscient narrator who follows Keisha in the past tense as she hurried to get to work after waking up late.
