Chapter 12 Summary

When Stella arrives at school the next day, the school has been transformed into an Aabian nights theme for Grad Night. Stella glances around as she sees a bunch of kids passing around yearbooks for signing. When Stella gets to the library, she finds Larome there trying to get his yearbook from the teacher, who tells him he can't have it until he pays the money he owes.

Stella goes to English class to take her final. She has a photographic memory, like her dad, so she works through each test question one by one. Stella finishes 30 minutes early and takes a nap until the bell rings. Mr. Muthler asks Stella to stay behind to talk to her about the essay she wrote the week before about the way the English classroom smells. She confirms that she took today's test seriously and leaves...
