Summary

In Chapter 10, Georgie heads to her mother’s house again because she suspects that Neal is not picking up his phone on purpose. Heather, Kendrick, and her mom are watching TV on the couch. Heather likes to make herself look nice for the pizza boy on whom she has a crush. After they eat, Georgie tries Neal’s cellphone with her mother and Kendrick’s phones; she suspects he is screening her calls, but he does not answer their calls either. She worries that Margaret is “running interference” for her son’s calls (104). She knows that Neal would get custody of their girls because Neal is their primary caretaker. She knows that she is the “fourth wheel” with Neal, Alice, and Noomi (106). Depressed with her life, Georgie dials Neal’s landline again.
