Cole and Pike arrive at Parker Center after the funeral, and Pike receives a chilly welcome from many of Wozniak's friends who still work there. They meet Krantz, Dolan, and Frank Garcia, who is still distraught from the scene at Karen's funeral. Dolan confesses that Cole and Pike knew about the serial killer. Krantz takes the opportunity to insinuate that Cole and Pike must have leaked the story to the press, and while Garcia does not agree, he does believe that from this point on the Police Department should have exclusive control over the case.
Cole returns home, upset that he has been fired. Eugene Dersh is being hounded by the press and Cole is powerless to clear his name. Lucy returns from work and supports Cole. She is preparing to romance his.....
