Chapter 5-6 Summary

Pike and Cole arrive at Mr. Garcia's house, where Mr. Montoya, Garcia's lawyer, asks that Pike and Cole remain on the case in conjunction with the LAPD. Neither Cole nor the police department are pleased with this suggestion, but at Garcia's desperate plea, they agree. Cole returns to the scene of the crime to watch the body for Mr. Garcia. He spends the rest of the day watching the LAPD process the crime scene.

That night, Cole invites Lucy and her son to his house to try to block out the day. Pike drops by unannounced to discuss the case, and he mentions that Cole will have to deal with the LAPD on his own, because most of the cops who know Pike have despised him since Pike killed his partner, Abel Wozniak,.....
