Chapter Fourteen through Chapter Sixteen Summary

Chapter Fourteen finds Jemima working out over lunch instead of eating with Ben on his last day, because she knows she will miss a workout otherwise. On the way out, she weighs herself in at 166 pounds, and to celebrate, buys some makeup at a local store. After work, Geraldine offers to help her, and when she walks into the party, even the editor notices her new beauty. Ben, however, seems not to notice as Diana MacPherson seems to have his entire attention. Diana's date, Nick, begins flirting with Geraldine, as she knows him through a mutual acquaintance. Throughout the night, Jemima watches as Diana flirts with Ben, and although Diana isn't a threat, Jemima feels pain, knowing he doesn't have feelings for her. Soon, Lisa and Sophie arrive, and Jemima is happy to see they...
