Chapters 31 through 35 Summary
In chapter thirty-one, the party kicks off and lots of people arrive, many that Belly doesn't know. She dances with Jeremiah and decides she wants to go for a swim. Conrad intervenes, saying Belly has had too much to drink and shouldn't go in the water. She goes to the beach anyway and walks into the water, arguing with Conrad the entire way. She walks into the water though the desire to swim has actually dissolved. Just when she comes to think Conrad won't follow her, he does, hoists her over his shoulder and drops her onto the sand. She's furious at his treatment but more so at her own actions. Belly makes her way back to the house, ignores a boy's request that she join him for a swim and steps on a girl's foot on the way. She goes to her room and realizes the bed is spinning...
