Chapter 28 through 30 Summary

In chapter twenty-eight, Belly remembers a rare weekend when both her father and Mr. Fisher were at the beach house. She says they had little in common. On this particular weekend, Laurel and Susannah were dressing to out on a date with their husbands. Susannah had offered to put some makeup on Belly and she'd enjoyed the female attention. Belly remembers watching her parents that night and it seemed they were genuinely happy. She says later she'd talked about Taylor's parents and their divorce. Taylor's parents had fought constantly but Taylor says she still wanted her parents to be together so they were a family. Belly is haunted by the fact that her parents never fought at all. She says she isn't certain whether they simply didn't care enough about their marriage to fight for it or if they'd never actually been in love at...
