Chapters 24 through 27 Summary

In chapter twenty-four, Belly remembers a special blender Mr. Fisher had at the beach house when she and the boys were small and spending summers together. They had all known they weren't to touch the blender which Mr. Fisher used for making milkshakes. One day Belly and Jeremiah decided to make Slurpees using ice, Kool-Aid, sugar, and Mr. Fisher's blender. They'd needed to stir the concoction and Belly hadn't put the lid back on tightly enough. When they started the blender again, the purple mess had gone everywhere, including on Mr. Fisher's briefcase. Mr. Fisher was furious and Susannah had told him it was an accident and he should let it go. When Mr. Fisher was telling Jeremiah he'd been told not to touch the blender, Conrad interrupted, saying they all knew they weren't supposed to but that Mr. Fisher had never told them not...
