Chapter 103 - 105 Summary

Strathmore thinks he has been able to turn off the power before the lowest processors can ignite. As he walks confidently into Node 3, he believes his dreams of Susan will soon be realized.

He is stunned when Susan meets him with a cold glare. Overcome with grief and unable to speak, she drops Strathmore's pager at his feet and runs out of Node 3. Strathmore picks up the pager and scrolls through the list of messages announcing the termination of each of Hulohot's victims. David Becker's name is the last message received.

Susan tries to escape through Crypto's main exit but she is still trapped. Strathmore grabs her from behind and begins to plead with her. Susan tries to get away but his grip on her is too strong. He confesses her love for her and begs her to stay with him...
