The Blood

The Blood are people of any race who can use magic or the Craft. Usually they wear Jewels, which give them added power, although some members of the Blood do not wear Jewels.

Blood Jewels

The Jewels are jewels that hold magical power. They come in thirteen different colors ranging from white to black. The darker the color, the more powerful the Jewel. Members of the Blood usually receive a Jewel as a birthright at a special ceremony. Later in life they can amplify their power in a ritual called the 'Offering to the Darkness', during which they are gifted with a darker-colored Jewel. They can descend a maximum of three ranks from their birthright Jewel when they do this. For example, Wilhelmina wears a purple dusk Jewel, but when she makes her Offering she descends to sapphire, making her more powerful. When the Jewels are...
