Jaenelle Angelline, Witch

Jaenelle is the focus of the story and one of the main characters. However, the reader never sees events from her eyes, and is never allowed to see her private thoughts and feelings. She remains quite a mysterious character, and the reader is forced to judge her based on what she says and what other characters see. She seems to be a fairly normal, precocious child. She is very curious about the world, and loves being introduced to new things. She is very brave and thinks nothing of wandering into a new place and meeting new people.
