Section 15: ch. 35-36 Summary

In "Crazy Dogs Wishing to Die", chapter thirty-five, Sam is stripped of hope by his journey to the Underworld. He grabs a lance from the living room, swings at and cuts Coyote, and runs outside to jump on a buckskin horse. As he rides toward town, Sam claims that he is tired of being afraid and it is a good day to die. Coyote follows Sam on a painted horse. As dawn breaks, forty bikers, led by Lonnie, enter Crow Agency. They hear a war cry, and two men on horses charge them. When Bonner reaches to draw his pistol, a shot on his left causes his speedometer to explode. The bikers notice the four men on the roofs with rifles. When Sam screams again, Tinker draws and fires his gun, causing Harlan to shoot Tinker in the shoulder...
