Part 2, The Quell: Chapters 16-18 Summary

In chapter sixteen, Katniss is deeply upset by the appearance of Darius as an Avox, but knows there is little she can do about it. Katniss has nightmares and feels rebellious in the morning, purposely avoiding a meeting before training. However, Haymitch still drags her to the dining room and instructs her to make friends and find groups to ally herself with during the games. Katniss tries to refuse, but Haymitch makes an argument she cannot deny. During training, Katniss moves from station to station, beginning with a knot tying station in which Finnick Odair shows her a difficult knot, to the fire station.
