Part 1, The Spark: Chapters 4-6 Summary

In chapter four, Katniss spends the first full day on the train having hair removed from every inch of her body. This gives Katniss too much time to think about her future, including a fear that she will have to watch her own children fight in the games. Not only this, but Katniss is unhappy that the first district they will visit, District 11, is the home of two tributes whom she befriended during the previous games. Peeta and Katniss talk after breakfast and agree to a truce of sorts, to be friends. Peeta shows Katniss his paintings, his talent, and she discovers he has painted the games. The paintings frighten and awe Katniss at the same time. Later, they watch out the windows as the train moves through the large expanse of District 11.
