Raccoon City

Raccoon City is where the novel opens. This is where Rebecca, Barry, Jill, and Chris are stationed for S.T.A.R.S., but they have been discredited after the fiasco at the Spencer mansion. David visits Raccoon City after receiving a call from Barry and asks Rebecca to assist with the Caliban Cove situation.

Umbrella

Umbrella is a well-respected pharmaceutical company who is responsible for creating the T-Virus which turns people into zombies through their biological weapons research. They buy off key S.T.A.R.S. members and orchestrate an attack on the Raccoon City S.T.A.R.S. team.

S.T.A.R.S.

S.T.A.R.S. stands for Special Tactics and Rescue Squad and is a investigating unit that the main characters all belong to. S.T.A.R.S. does not provide backup to the Raccoon City team...
