Chapter 17, Chapter 18 & Epilogue Summary

In Chapter 17, Dr. Griffith is so furious that David and Rebecca do not understand the beauty of his plan that he orders Steve to put the gun to his face and die. As Steve raises the weapon, Rebecca bangs on the door, but the shot cuts off her screams; she tries to tell herself that Steve was already dead, but she is filled with hate for the first time and wants to kill Griffith who beams at them through the window.
