Point of View

Bag of Bones by Stephen King is written entirely in the first person perspective through the eyes of the main character, Mike Noonan. The narrative is reliable and consistent, with a great deal of importance placed on how events affect Mike directly as they unfold. In the beginning, Mike loses his wife unexpectedly which would seem to be the greatest tragedy of a lifetime, but Mike will discover throughout the novel that there are much worse things in life than simply losing the one you love.
