The Lake Region, the Five Lakes

The Lake region consists of one large lake that has islands in it such as the city of Tenochtitlan, and Xaltocan. The lake, because of different conditions, and being broken up by islands, is divided by name into five lakes. They are: Xaltocan, Texcoco, Tzumpanco, Chalco, and Xochimilco. These lakes are shallow, and are later drained by the Spanish conquerors.

Xaltocan

Xaltocan is a small island in the northern section of the Lake region. The main business of Xaltocan is a rock quarry that produces building stone. Xaltocan is where Mixtli is born and raised.
