On Sunday, Lucifer goes to church and finds that Phyllida is not in attendance. When Sir Jasper tells him that Phyllida stayed home with a headache, Lucifer leaves to find her. Remembering the last time that Phyllida got out of going to church with a headache, Lucifer is afraid that something is wrong.
When he gets to the Grange, Jonas informs him that he just got back from walking Phyllida to the Manor. Back at the Manor, Dodswell gives Lucifer a note that Phyllida has left him. It gives a brief explanation of where she is going and includes a set of directions.
A note is left for Phyllida, and looks like a note from Molly, Cedric's seamstress, and indicates that she may know who the hat in question belongs to. She wants.....
