Lucifer and Phyllida are both in attendance of a dance that the Smollets have arranged. Lucifer spends the evening meeting more people and keeping his eye on Phyllida. When he gets a chance to talk to her, he comes up with a new way of making her talk to him. He is going to kiss her right there in front of everyone if she doesn't tell her what he wants to know. Thankfully for Phyllida, she manages to find plenty of distractions through the evening. She tries to make sure that she has someone else with her every moment.
Phyllida takes a few minutes to talk to Robert. She wants to know what is in the letters that is so horrible that it has to be secret. He tells her that they are.....
