Chapter 2 Summary
Phyllida is immediately questioned about her reasons for being at Horatio's house after he was murdered. At first she thinks that Lucifer has to be guessing. How could he really know that it was her who touched his cheek? She is quickly convinced that he does know, but refuses to tell him why she was there. She assures that she does not know anything about Horatio's murder. Lucifer lets the matter drop for the time being, but has no intention of letting it go.
Phyllida invites Lucifer to tea on behalf of her father, and he accepts. When she asks his name, he tells her that it is Lucifer. She does not believe him, but does not continue to argue. When he introduces himself to Sir Jasper, he introduces himself as Alasdair Cynster, but notes that he is better known as Lucifer.
