The Forest of Ku Kei is a forbidden place, where legend and common usage say that no one goes. Lanik does go there and learns some fascinating things as he encounters strange time shifts. He is not harmed in the forest. Later, he returns to the forest and meets the Ku Kei people, who are time shifters. He learns their secrets and becomes a time shifter, himself.
