Due to a substantial achievement at this company, his career in the finance industry took off. The purpose of this lesson is to examine the circumstances behind Meriwether's success at Salomon Brothers.

Lesson

1. Class discussion: Before Meriwether was approached by the man working on Treasury bill futures, what did he do at Salomon? What were his career goals? What did he know about the world of finance? Why did Meriwether decide to take part in the Treasury Bill futures deal?
