Greenland - Eirik the Red takes the first permanent settlers here after being outlawed.

Helluland and Markland - Islands discovered and named by Leif Eiriksson during his voyage to Greenland.

Vinland - An area that is today the Northern tip of Newfoundland, Leif Eiriksson built the first Norse settlement here in the early 11th century, nearly five hundred years before Columbus.
