Summary

In Chapter 48, Joe makes Beck a test based on Nicky’s e-mails. He tells Beck to pick up the “yes” and “no” cards that he put in the drawer but she is uncooperative. It is only after he asks Beck three times that she tells him the truth, that she did have an affair with Nicky. She lies and says it was a mistake and also that it only happened once. He wants Beck to tell him that Nicky means nothing to her but she does not give him the response that he wants. He wants her to beg him for forgiveness but she does not.

For the next part of the test, Joe gets two copies of the Da Vinci Code. Since neither of them have read the book Joe thinks they will be able to bond by reading it together.
