Summary

In Chapter 33, Joe waits for Peach when she runs the next day. He remembers that it was on a beach that Candace tried to break up with him. He blames his act of drowning her on her because she did follow him.

When Peach does run past him, Joe grabs her by the ponytail. She recognizes him just before he hits her on the head with a rock. He fills Peach’s pockets with rocks and drops her body into the ocean. He uses Peach’s phone to send Beck an e-mail saying that she is going away for a while. When Joe checks on Beck an hour later, she is dancing to Bowie and eating Peach’s food.

In Chapter 34, after he has not heard from Beck after two weeks, Joe is suspicious of her therapist because she is seeing him twice...
