Summary

In Chapter 42, Willa and Nathaniel spent many days together, talking to one another and learning about one another’s lives. However, each day, Nathaniel took Scout and his gun and went out into the forest without telling her why. One night, she saw him sitting sadly by the river and sat next to him.

In Chapter 43, Willa told Nathaniel about her woodcraft powers. He explained that loggers wanted to buy part of his property down by the river and had marked some of the trees nearby. He showed her and warned her not to go near that area. They found a net trap and Nathaniel took it down.

In Chapter 44, Nathaniel showed Willa his beehive and she marveled at the cleverness of his beekeeping.

In Chapter 45, Willa taught Nathaniel about how she saw the world and he did the same. She was baffled...
