Summary

Seth and Carter return to New York City, and Carter asks Seth for the audio he has recorded on his walks around the city. Later, Carter shows Seth a recording in which he has overlaid the chess player’s song with guitar chords played by a street performer. Musically, the guitar and vocals align perfectly. At Carter’s request, Seth makes the recording sound like it is from a very old record. Carter then anonymously uploads the file to the internet, labeling it Graveyard Blues by Charlie Shaw; he comes up with the fake artist name at random. Music aficionados on the internet comment that the song must be a newly unearthed classic, and Carter feels like he and Seth have mastered the musical form. One person, screen name JumpJim, expresses extreme interest. He says that he is familiar with the artist Charlie Shaw...
