Summary

"The Spirit Corridor" continues as Washuta explains that her tribe’s stories only describe dangerous beings, not Satan. She says they look like people and affect the world. Stories of the underworld come from stories about Blue Jay. His sister married a dead man and sent him back to meet Blue Jay. He initially threw out the bones, not realizing it was her husband. Then, when he reaches the underworld, he throws out the bones of others and is sent back to put out the fires. He does not listen to the dead and burns alive. Washuta wonders how she can choose between so many doors to other worlds and is told that they travel to the underworld in their dreams.
