Summary

In Chapter 12, Colleen secretly went into Groom’s room and rummaged through his bag. She found a brand-new change of clothes from a store in Wilmington, which seemed odd because she thought he had come straight from the airport after deplaning. Winston and Colleen gave Groom a lift, on their way to Janelle’s house. Winston wanted Colleen to be there when he questioned Janelle. In the car, Groom commented that the family should feel free to enter his room if they needed anything. Colleen responded by saying that Groom should feel free to use their phone, if he needed to. Afterwards she told Winston about his nighttime use of the pay phone. Janelle explained again that Rodney had left the house to fetch diapers. Ed surmised that he had witnessed the crash-landing, since the store was close to the airport. Colleen wandered...
