Differences in Christmas Traditions

In this novel, everyone has their own set of unique Christmas traditions. It is these Christmas traditions that make every family unique. Although many Christmas traditions are discussed in this novel, none are quite like the ones followed by Sierra and her family.

Because Sierra and her family run a Christmas tree farm in Oregon, they are involved in Christmas all year long. Shortly before Thanksgiving they move to an Airstream trailer on a Christmas tree lot in California where they sell their trees. They are not home for the holidays. Instead, they spend their Christmas as one of other people’s Christmas traditions. Sierra notes how many people come back year after year to buy trees from her family because they have always done so.
