Chapters 1-4 Summary

What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen tells the story of a teenage girl named Mclean Elizabeth Sweet who lives with her father after a divorce. Since her father is a restaurant consultant, the pair constantly moves around. As they settle into the town of Lakeview, Mclean realizes that she is happy there, but she knows she probably won't stay.

Chapter 1

Mclean and her father eat at a restaurant called Luna Blu.The restaurant is obviously in trouble. The service is poor, and the food is subpar. The father's job is working with restaurants. He goes into struggling restaurants and either fixes them up, or shuts them down. This means they are on the road frequently. Each time they arrive in a new town, they stop at the restaurant he is supposed to take charge of and order the same foods...
