Summary

In Chapter 9, Lowen has been staying in the house for five days. One day, she suddenly hears Crew screaming. Lowen finds him bleeding in Verity’s room. He has accidentally cut himself on a knife. Verity washes and bandages the minor wound. When she goes back into Verity’s room, she cannot find the knife. Lowen decides to read another chapter of So Be It. Interlude 4 consists of the fourth chapter of So Be It. Despite Verity’s various attempts to cause a miscarriage, the fetuses remained intact. Verity gave birth to the twins: Chastin and Harper. Verity hoped that, once she held the babies, she might feel love for them, but she felt no such thing. She felt only hatred and jealousy towards the babies as she observed Jeremy’s persistent, all-consuming love for the children.
