Summary

In Chapter 27, Riki thinks about how Ocean Beach does not compare to Bali. Still, he meets Vera there early in the morning and is surprised when she mentions Marshall's laptop. In a folder labeled with Riki's name, she found a Scalper Bot and learned it was meant to scam people. So, Riki tells his story.

When Riki was 13, Adi was born and the two became close over the years. Eventually, Riki pushed their parents to check Adi for a learning disability. This led to the discovery that Adi was extremely gifted and Riki worked hard to save money for Adi's education. That's when Riki found Marshall's job posting: $25,000 to make a bot.
