Chapter Fifteen

The next morning, Bob opened the bedroom door to find Ice making breakfast for them. He offered to help but Ice told him to have a seat. He had everything under control. Ice’s apartment was posh; his music system probably cost as much as a car. The Rat came out wearing her Armani dress. It was obvious that Ice actually hadn’t cooked much. He forgot to use an oven mitt to take the pan of hash browns out of the oven. The Rat insisted that Bob finish the cooking.

Ice made it clear that they couldn’t stay there. His girlfriend, Mia, would be home the next day. They showed him Uncle Jerome’s photo but he didn’t know him. Ice had to leave for some promotional interviews for his new CD at the Marriott Hotel on Broadway...
