Identity Theft

Identity theft is the taking of someone else's identity and making it your own. Edward Scrog wants to be a cop until he sees Ranger make an arrest in the record store Scrog works. Scrog becomes obsessed with Ranger, following him around and imitating his mode of dressing. Scrog even takes on Ranger's name, marrying Carmen and convincing her that he is Ranger. This marriage is how Stephanie learns that Scrog exists. Carmen finds out Ranger and Stephanie have a romantic relationship and comes to Jersey to confront Stephanie. Stephanie knows Ranger well enough to know he would not get married, so she begins to think something is wrong with this situation. Her hunch proves to be true.
