Summary

In “Chapter 7”, Suzanne visited Iris in hospital. She gifted Iris with adult coloring books and a phone she had downloaded music and nature sounds onto. When Iris listened to the nature sounds, she saw her brother and was taken back to a time in the woods. Suzanne broke this moment by reminding Iris she was there. Suzanne told her she would visit again and bring her “decent” food, reminding Iris of something her mother also used to say (51).

In “Chapter 8” Suzanne was throwing a dinner party for her husband’s job, so that he could network with a potential investor, Chad Beecham. Suzanne had invited her friend, Mia Stone, so that she would have someone to talk to. Mia had a poor relationship with her husband and had three difficult children. Mia was a lawyer and enjoyed making fun of Chad’s wife...
