Summary

It turns out that the stowaway is Gum Baby. Ayanna is not pleased. She asks what Gum Baby is doing here. Gum Baby admits that she thought that if she got another chance, she could prove herself to the gods and be a part of their team again. Chestnutt explains that Gum Baby wants to be a pilot like Ayanna. Tristan is surprised to learn that even dolls can have dreams and aspirations. Gum Baby blames Tristan for ruining his mission by not letting him have the book. Tristan defends himself, saying it was his best friends' journal, not just some book. Ayanna asks for the story of how he and Gum Baby got back int Alke; what happened to cause such destruction? Tristan isn't sure if he should tell the story, thought part of him is late to try out his Anansesem...
