Summary

Thomas meets with Toni on a dozen separate occasions for one on one assistance with her senior thesis. He focuses on small instances of skin to skin contact like when their knees touch or when her fingers slightly brush his arm. Sexually charged by this close interaction, Thomas quotes a line from Shakespeare, asking Toni to kiss him. He claims that his motive was “to diffuse things” (93), but Toni accuses him of sexual harassment and convinces him to write her senior for her in exchange for her not reporting him to the school authorities.
