Summary

On March 30th, the group trudges through the sludge as the women carries her own pack of supplies. They are forced to abandon their tents and half their supplies, keeping only their waterproof sleeping bags for comfort. The Indians believe they will starve and that the natives usually survive off human flesh. Tillman asks about Sophie and is surprised that she is Allen’s first wife.
