Summary

At the beginning of Chapter I, Awakening, Kira struggled to wake up. But she willed her to and felt the suit's mask crawl back over her face. Her surroundings were unfamiliar and she was surprised to be greeted by a doctor, Vishal, and a young boy, Trig, aboard a ship called the SLV Wallfish. When they asked for her name, she told them Ellen Kaminski to play it safe until she fully understood the situation. After turning down Vishal's request to run tests, she is greeted by Captain Falconi who updated her on the developments since she left Sigma Draconis. Aliens, or Jellies, have been popping up all over and attacking different transports and cruisers- a war had started, and some Jellies were en route to ambush the Wallfish.
