Chapters 21-30 Summary

In chapter twenty-one, the Second Test is a wall-climbing challenge. Another of the Champions has gone missing. Celaena is using tar to grip the walls, and she and the others make their way towards a flag. Ned Clement suddenly falls to his death. She sees Grave the assassin shove her friend Nox aside and then begin to cut his rope. Celaena jumps to save him.

In chapter twenty-two, Celaena catches Nox just as he begins falling, but they slam into a wall. She winds up finishing next to last, just in front of Nox, but no one is disqualified since Ned Clement died in the test. Chaol tries to comfort her, and she learns that her old master made her pay her back for her training. Philipa comes in later to tell them that the Champion who didn't show up to...
