Summary

In Chapter 11, Mia looks for a way to hide from Mr. Yao, but she finds no options. Mr. Yao is annoyed to find her here. Jason is disappointed when Mia prepares to leave. Mr. Yao grabs another plate and says she is staying. Mia loves the spices that Jason used to season the spaghetti dish. Mia's only experience with Italian food is the spaghetti that is sometimes part of her free school lunch, and this is much better. She says Jason could become a chef. Jason is pleased, but Mr. Yao says Jason is going to become a doctor or lawyer. Becoming a chef would be a “step down” from those goals.
