Autumn Browne

Autumn Browne is Tyler’s sister and Sylv’s girlfriend. She is one of the narrators in the novel. Autumn’s life changed drastically when her mother died in a car accident. Autumn’s mother was a professional dancer and inspired Autumn to dance as well. Autumn blamed herself for her mother’s death because her mother was driving to pick Autumn up from a ballet class when she had her fatal accident.

After the accident, Autumn’s father told her that she was not allowed to dance any longer. Despite his threats, Autumn continued to dance and began her application to Juilliard. Whenever her father learned she was dancing again, he would beat Autumn. Autumn remembered her brother as being her protector and the one who encouraged her dreams.
