Summary

Chapter 77 is set Tuesday, Nov. 9. Anna sends Dr. Fielding a message that she will not see him that day. He calls but she does not answer. She takes three of her sleeping pills.

Chapter 78 is set Wednesday, Nov. 10. Anna is woken by hunger. She decides to watch the movie Vertigo and turns up the volume loud enough to drown out Olivia and Ed’s voices. Anna falls asleep in front of the television. She wakes when her phone rings. It is Wesley. He claims he intended to call her back the previous day but was very busy. When Anna realizes that Wesley wants an escape from her, she tells him that it does not matter and hangs up.
